Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. As a child, she went to at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was inspired to become an actor at age six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing, dancing and acting. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach and school productions when she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It broke all records in the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie of the year 2001. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Later Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film winning her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in a feature Film.
